I released an Audiobook! Here’s How:

This year I published my first audiobook. My 2019 poetry collection “All the Beloved Known Things” is now available on Audible, iBooks, and Amazon.

I just released by first audiobook, so for my fellow scribes I offer my roadmap:

What I Used to Release my Audiobook

I used ACX, which is like KDP for audiobooks 🙏 Really great interface, really easy and they handle the distribution through iTunes and Audible 💪💪💪

The only thing that would have been difficult to do on my own was producing the mp3 files up to snuff.

Fortunately my brother-in-law had access to a sound booth where I recorded it and he was able to tweak the files for the quality control required before they’ll let you release it (makes sense, Audible and the like want high quality files).

So if you have a book out there, I recommend making an audiobook!!! Because why not—YOU WROTE A BOOk, all you need for an audiobook is to read it into a microphone.

I found the experience rewarding

And if you need help: There are plenty of striving musicians in most areas with the skills to record you and produce up to snuff mp3s.

Help someone help you for a modest fee the transaction of which helps you make it as a writer and they make it as a musician (or profit sharing arrangement on end product if you’re really broke!)

Together we rise!

Author Bio:

Luke Maguire Armstrong was mauled by a raccoon twice. The first time just a little bit, the second time involved so much blood and mayhem that US Today published the piece. That story and many others appears in his book “The Nomads Nomad” (2014) He’s the author of eight published books, has won awards for his travel journalism, but also pooped his pants as an adult in Ireland (accidentally), so we shouldn’t take him that seriously.
